Holiday in Kauai
November, 2008

What ever you say about Hawaii, it should end with the word ahhhh!

Using points, we ran away from Victoria and lounged about in Kauai for a week.

Home to some of the sandiest beaches in the Hawaiian Island chain, Kauai is more laid back than the other more travelled islands.

Claiming fame for hosting production of movies such as Raiders, King Kong, Jurrasic Park and the like, it was easy to happen on scenery that made up the backdrop for those flicks.

Highlighting the trip was the friendly, helpful and courteous staff at our resort. If you are looking to unwind your mainspring, Wyndham at Kaua`i Beach Villas is definitely the place to do it.

It has the right balance of isolation from the hustle and bustle of places like Waikiki, but enough amenities to keep you in touch with the world.

The accommodations are very good to excellent (we've done Hawaii several times, so this is based on experience).

Secluded beaches are rare!

A rental vehicle is necessary. The airport offers shuttles to the rental agencies; all of the major ones are nearby. Shopping ranges from back country ma and pa operations to major department stores, so if you forgot something, worry not.

For those with a sense of adventure, a 4 wheel drive vehicle opens up access to the more isolated west side of Kauai and the Naapali coast. This is a well kept secret ... worth sharing with all members!

Mahalo!
