RCI Silver Crown Resorts SM Replaces Resorts of International Distinction
March 2006

RCI's Resorts of International Distinction (or RID) award now has a new name: the RCI Silver Crown Resort award. The quality of experience remains the same, but the name has been changed to better reflect RCI's award hierarchy.

"Our main reason for the change was to create a better connection between RCI's two quality awards and alleviate any confusion," says Molly Hensley, program director.

Resorts exhibiting the highest standard of quality in the vacation ownership industry can earn an RCI Silver Crown Resort award or an RCI Gold Crown Resort® award, and those providing warm and welcoming service can be named an RCI Hospitality resort.

New crown logos will appear on RCI.com and in the RCI Directory of Affiliated Resorts, and on plaques displayed in each winning resort.

The coveted annual recognition is based on comment-card ratings submitted by vacationing RCI® subscribing members. Resorts are scored on check-in/check-out, hospitality, resort and unit maintenance, and unit housekeeping.

In addition to comment card ratings, an RCI Gold Crown Resort must also meet established levels of amenities and undergo an onsite inspection.
