Holiday in Québec
February 2006

We chose Club Vacances Toutes Saisons for its location. On the north bank of the St. Lawrence River at Mont Ste Anne it is close to beautiful Québec City and historic Ste Anne de Beaupre and the Isle d'Orleans.

And it provided a convenient starting point for our extended journey around the Province of New Brunswick.

Mont Ste Anne is best known for its Winter activities, but we were there for the Fall colours.

We took drives and walks in the forests, a picnic among the waterfalls of Les Sept Chutes and tiptoed across the suspension bridges at Canyon Ste Anne.

Whether strolling the streets of Old Québec, visiting the basilica, or just admiring the traditional Québécois houses at Cap Tourmente and along the Route de la Nouvelle-France, a timeline through 300 years of history was among the delights of this area.

Nestled on the mountainside above the town of Ste Anne de Beaupre our accommodation was comfortable and compact, a winter resort esthetically blending with its surroundings. We had a living room with a fireplace. For the wet days of our stay there was TV and a DVD player.

The staff we met were bilingual and the reception staff were gracious and patient enough to allow me to practice my French.

On our second day we attended a free welcome breakfast and were given a "vacation passport" which included discount coupons for some of the area attractions and stores.

A very useful feature was the resort's travel information office which, in addition to giving us local information, was able to give us up to date information on ferries and accommodations for the rest of our trip.
