Trackside comes to Parkside!

Aviawest's newest Victoria property and Rock Solid's community art project have come together to beautify a major downtown construction site.

On Wednesday, September 7, 2005 volunteers mounted youth art from the Trackside Gallery at Parkside Victoria Resort & Spa, located at the corner of Humbolt and Blanshard Streets.

“To our knowledge this is the first time a developer in Victoria has worked directly with a community group to promote public art and site beautification during construction.” says Talya Cohen, Marketing Coordinator for Parkside Victoria Resort & Spa.

“We are thrilled to provide a new home for the art work, and to partner with Rock Solid.”


The award winning Trackside Art Gallery, located in Esquimalt, is an initiative of Rock Solid, a local non-profit that supports various youth programs.

Aviawest and Rock Solid will also be holding an art competition for public and private Elementary school children this fall.

City resident's will be able to view the art and vote for their favourite by ballot on line at the Aviawest website or in person at the Aviawest Sales Centre at 1115 Wharf St.
