100 things to do in Canada this fall

100 things to do in Canada this fall

Just because September is just around the corner doesn't mean the fun outdoor events and activities have to end!

Extend your Canadian road trip or west coast vacation and check out "100 ways to fill your calendar this fall" from the National Post.

Here are a few of our favourites from the West Coast:

10. Drink in the West Coast’s artisanal wine, beer and spirits culture at Art of the Cocktail in Victoria, a celebration of the craft and tradition of the cocktail.

15. Hang 10 at the O’Neill Cold Water Classic in Tofino, Canada’s first-ever Pro Surf contest, and the fourth in the five-part World Qualifying Series (WQS) competitions sanctioned by the Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP). The Tofino event will attract more than 100 professional surfers from around the world.

25. Most Canadian towns and cities have an annual fall exhibition or fair, and most are surprisingly enjoyable. Let the kids pet the sheep and feed the horses and watch the SuperDogs show. After all, kids and animals go together like SuperDogs and Frisbees.

47. Pick up some fresh fish at the False Creek Fishermen’s Wharf in Vancouver. Tip: Captain Steve from Organic Ocean is there most days and he’s your best bet.

57. We pulled into the driveway of Merridale Ciderworks, located at the mouth of Vancouver Island’s Cowichan Valley, on a late autumn day. The air was ripe with wood and smoke, earth and cider mash, as the buzz of a green tractor worked the orchards.
