One of Tofino and Ucluelet’s longest-running events, the Pacific Rim Whale Festival, kicks off this weekend. 

This year is the festival’s 25th anniversary, and the WhaleFest program is more packed than ever.

The festival celebrates the annual northward migration of Pacific gray whales, which peaks through the month of March. But there is a lot more to the festival than “just” watching whales—although the whalewatching, whether by boat or from shore, should absolutely not be missed.

WhaleFest runs for nine days, spanning two entire weekends—this year from Saturday March 19th through to Sunday March 27th (check out the Pacific Rim Whale Festival website for full program details).

The Aviawest Cycling Society is pleased to announce the recent donation of $3500 to the Victoria Cycling Academy, a junior-specific training centre for young up-and-coming cyclists based out of the new Pacific Institute for Sports Excellence.
